Work and Holiday visa for Applicants from Papua New Guinea

The Australian government has announced changes to the to the Work and holiday visa for applicants from Papua New Guinea.


The Work and Holiday visa (subclass 462) lets people 18 to 30 years old (inclusive) have an extended holiday in Australia and work here to help fund their trip. Papua New Guinea was added to the Work and Holiday visa (subclass 462) program on 1st July 2023. The arrangement allows up to 100 PNG nationals to travel to Australia on a Work and Holiday (subclass 462) visa.​​​


From 1 August 2023, passport holders from Papua New Guinea are able to lodge a valid subclass 462 visa application without the need to provide a Letter of Support. ​This change will make it easier for applicants from Papua New Guinea to apply to come to Australia on a Work and Holiday visa (subclass 462)
